Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos Call Off Engagement One Month Before Italy Wedding
The Lake Como wedding is off. Thirty-two days before a ceremony booked for April 10 in Italy, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos have ended their engagement — a relationship that produced two daughters and one of the most closely watched proposals in recent NFL history.
The Bahamas Trip That Ended Everything
Sources close to the situation described the relationship as "beyond repair," with Ramos ultimately making the decision to call things off following a joint bachelor-bachelorette party in the Bahamas. The relationship had been rocky behind the scenes for months before things came to a head with a blowup argument during that trip.
Ramos had posted bachelorette photos on March 5 with a caption that, in retrospect, reads differently than it did at the time. "I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends," she wrote alongside images of herself surrounded by close friends during the celebration. Two days later, the news broke.
Two Versions of the Same Story
Ramos' representative pushed back on the more dramatic account. "There wasn't any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up," her rep told People. "It was a mutual decision."
The prenuptial rumor hit even harder on social media — and was just as quickly denied. Sources told TMZ the claim is false, noting that Ramos comes from a well-off Tampa family and has built her own career as a wine and spirits specialist, meaning the relationship was never about Prescott's NFL salary. Ramos addressed it directly herself, writing: "This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now."
250 Guests, One Email
The couple sent an email to the roughly 250 guests who had been invited to their April 10 ceremony, confirming the cancellation. The message read: "It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers."
As recently as February 23, Ramos had posted that she "can't wait to marry the love of my life." Just weeks before the split, the two had attended Super Bowl LX together in San Francisco, photographed on the NFL Honors red carpet.
Two Children, Co-Parenting Ahead
Prescott and Ramos have two daughters together — Margaret Rose Jane, born in February 2024, and Aurora Rayne, born in May 2025. Both are under two years old.
Ramos' representative confirmed the two are already focused on their children: "They love their girls, and they're committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way. It's still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out."
Prescott had proposed in October 2024 during a golf outing, using a fake golf ball to conceal the ring — one Ramos nearly hit before he stopped her. Neither has spoken publicly since the split was confirmed.
