Dwight Howard Files for Divorce From Wife Amy Luciani Amid Cocaine and CPS Bombshell
Dwight Howard has broken his silence — not with words, but with a court filing. The 40-year-old former NBA star filed for divorce from his wife Amy Luciani on Monday, March 9, just two days after her viral cocaine allegations and CPS revelations exploded across social media with 5.8 million views in under 24 hours.
Dwight Howard Files for Divorce: Marriage "Irretrievably Broken"
Howard filed for divorce from his wife Amber Howard — widely known as Amy Luciani — on Monday, March 9. In the filing, Howard states that he and Luciani are "living in a bona fide state of separation with no hope of reconciliation." The marriage is referred to as "irretrievably broken." The former NBA star is asking for his "separate and non-marital" property back as part of the proceedings.
In addition to the divorce filing, a mutual restraining order was also filed — preventing both sides from harming each other or any of their children, selling any property except in the ordinary course of business, canceling each other's insurance, or disconnecting any utilities.
Howard Attends Lakers Game Courtside While Internet Explodes
Rather than hiding, Howard chose to show up courtside at the Los Angeles Lakers game on Sunday, March 8 — the same day the allegations were circulating with millions of views. He appeared completely relaxed, watching the game like a normal fan, prompting widespread trolling across social media.
In one clip, Luciani held up a large bag of white powder, claiming it belonged to Howard. "This is what I'm losing my marriage to," she said through sobs. Howard's courtside appearance directly after the video went viral became a second viral moment all on its own.
Amy Luciani's Full Allegations: Cocaine, CPS, and a 12-Year-Old Told to Lie
Luciani said: "My Husband put himself in a position that resulted in CPS being called to our house 3X in less than two months, but three days ago, they were called again, and they left with our daughter." She also alleged: "My stepson is only 12 years old. When CPS and police came to take our daughter, my husband needed an alibi to cover a lie. I told him I want no parts. In return, he coached my stepson to lie. I recorded me talking to my stepson."
Luciani said through tears: "This is not him. This is not Dwight. This is trauma, this is everything he's been through — but now the kids. I have to advocate for the kids. And I can't go down for what he's doing. So, they took our daughter and I'm just sitting there like do I speak up or be quiet?"
Royce Reed Doubles Down After Divorce News Breaks
Royce Reed, who shares son Braylon with Howard and has battled him in custody court since 2010, was direct in her message to Luciani: "You said I was jealous. You said I wanted him when it's always been about the damn kids. And now you want to sit here and cry and be like it's because of what everybody else did to him. No — it's because of what he does to people."
The divorce filing represents the first direct action from Howard since the allegations went viral Thursday. He has still not issued any verbal or written public statement addressing the cocaine allegations or the CPS removal of his daughter.
