WWE WrestleMania 42 to Feature Hell in a Cell Match
Plans for WWE WrestleMania 42 initially included a Hell in a Cell match featuring Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. This match was proposed for the WWE Championship, according to PWInsider reports. However, WWE has chosen a different direction for the event.
Current WrestleMania Lineup
Now, the matchup scheduled for WrestleMania is Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton, which will not take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre is expected to face Jacob Fatu during the event.
History of Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania
If the Hell in a Cell match had occurred at this WrestleMania, it would mark the fifth such match in the event’s history. The previous WrestleMania Hell in a Cell matches include:
- Undertaker vs. Big Boss Man
- Undertaker vs. Triple H
- Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon
- Edge vs. Finn Balor
Both McIntyre and Rhodes have notable experiences within the Hell in a Cell structure. McIntyre previously won the WWE Championship from Rhodes in January during a Three Stages of Hell match that included a steel cage finale. However, Rhodes reclaimed the title just last Friday on SmackDown.
Upcoming Title Match Details
As it stands, the WWE plans to keep the upcoming match between Rhodes and Orton as a singles contest. Randy Orton earned this title opportunity by triumphing in the recent Elimination Chamber match.
With WrestleMania 42 on the horizon, fans are eagerly anticipating the outcomes of these significant matchups in WWE. Keep updated with all the latest developments at Filmogaz.com.
