The investigation into Sunday's shooting at Rihanna's Beverly Hills mansion moved rapidly into Monday morning, March 10, as authorities confirmed the identity and booking details of the suspect. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, of Florida, is now sitting in Los Angeles County custody on a charge of attempted murder — and the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office is expected to formally announce charges today.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz Booked for Attempted Murder With $10.2 Million Bail

Police arrested 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who has been booked for attempted murder, with bail set at $10,225,000. According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's inmate records, Ortiz was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Sunday and was booked at 2:06 a.m. Monday.

LAPD Det. Aguilar told KTLA that the high bail amount is due to several factors — the attempted murder booking, the number of occupants in the home at the time of the shooting, and the weapon used. The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office is expected to formally announce charges on March 10.

Ortiz is an Orlando, Florida resident and licensed speech pathologist. She has blonde hair and brown eyes according to her Los Angeles County Sheriff's inmate file. NBC News reported that her social media identified her as an Illinois native.

A$AP Rocky and All Three Children Were Also Inside the Home

A$AP Rocky and their children were also inside the Beverly Crest home, just north of Beverly Hills, when shots were fired at approximately 1:15 p.m. PT. The property's front gate appeared to have bullet holes, and police investigated the area throughout Sunday afternoon.

The LA Times cited law enforcement sources reporting Ortiz used an AR-15-style assault rifle to fire several shots, one of which pierced a wall of the mansion. At least two homes on the block sustained bullet holes, and a vehicle parked in front of the residence was also struck.

Bizarre Facebook Posts Preceded the Shooting by Two Weeks

A February 23 Facebook post from Ortiz's account directly addressed Rihanna, tagging her Instagram account and referencing the singer in hostile, erratic language. In a separate post, Ortiz recorded herself in a blonde wig and American flag shorts speaking into a mirror, directing agitated comments at Cardi B.

The posts paint a picture of a woman who had been fixating on multiple celebrities in the weeks before the shooting. Law enforcement has not yet publicly confirmed whether the Facebook posts were reviewed as threat indicators before Sunday's incident.

Ivanna Ortiz Has a Prior Arrest Record in Florida

Ortiz's prior arrests in Florida include a 2013 bankruptcy case, a 2021 suspicion of careless driving, and a 2023 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence and battery.

In that 2023 domestic battery incident, the arresting officer wrote in their report: "Based on the above facts, circumstances, independent witness statement and video evidence, I find Ivanna Ortiz to be the primary aggressor of the above incident."

Police Helicopter Tracked White Tesla to Sherman Oaks Mall Parking Garage

In police dispatch audio, officers are heard directing units as the suspect's white Tesla was followed by an LAPD helicopter into a mall parking garage in Sherman Oaks, where she was pulled over and detained without further incident.

Neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky has issued a public statement as of Tuesday morning ET. Official criminal charges from the Los Angeles District Attorney are expected to be announced today, adding formal legal weight to the attempted murder booking already on record.
