A woman armed with an AR-15-style rifle opened fire on Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's Beverly Hills mansion Sunday afternoon, March 8, while the Grammy-winning superstar was home with her three children. No one was injured in the terrifying attack, and the suspected shooter was arrested within minutes in a Sherman Oaks parking lot.

Rihanna Shooting: What Happened at 1:21 p.m. Sunday in Beverly Crest

LAPD officers responded to the 9500 block of Heather Road in the Beverly Crest neighborhood around 1:15 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of shots fired. Roughly 10 rounds were fired at the singer's home from a vehicle that had either stopped or was parked across the street. At least one bullet pierced a wall of the sprawling mansion where Rihanna lives with A$AP Rocky and their three children.

The shooter was armed with an AR-15-style rifle, driving a white Tesla. Four rounds of fragments hit parts of the property, and at least one round pierced a wall of the residence.

The suspect then fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive before police tracked her to a parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where she was arrested without incident. A weapon was recovered during the arrest.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder

A 35-year-old Florida woman, Ivanna Ortiz, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after shots were fired at the Beverly Crest home. She remained in custody Monday as the investigation continued.

Weeks before the shooting, on February 23, Ortiz allegedly posted a strange Facebook message about Rihanna, tagging the singer and writing an erratic message referencing her directly. The LAPD has not released a motive.

Law enforcement records show Ortiz has a prior history with police in Florida. The Orange County, Florida Corrections Department confirmed she was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence battery in June 2023 and violation of a domestic injunction three months later.

Rihanna Was Home With Three Children, A$AP Rocky Was Not Present

Rihanna was home with her three children — RZA, Riot Rose, and Rocki Irish — when the shooting occurred Sunday afternoon. A$AP Rocky was not at the residence at the time, sources confirmed.

No injuries were reported in the incident, LAPD Sgt. Jonathan de Vera, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed to the LA Times.

Footage captured after the shooting showed a stretch of Heather Road blocked off with yellow crime scene tape, while officers appeared to be speaking with private security personnel stationed outside the property.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Have Not Publicly Commented on the Shooting

Neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky has publicly addressed the incident. Representatives for the couple remained silent Monday morning as the investigation continued. Authorities stressed that establishing the motive is a priority and that no other arrests have been made at this time.

The attack took place in the exclusive Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles — a secluded, heavily wooded neighborhood nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains on the city's Westside. The case has intensified ongoing concerns over celebrity security in Los Angeles and is expected to prompt a review of Rihanna's private security arrangements going forward.
