Qclaw enters Tencent internal testing for dual WeChat and QQ access
March 9 at 12: 25 p. m. ET — Tencent is internally testing qclaw, a product described as an OpenClaw one-click startup package meant to enable dual access to WeChat and QQ. The timing is being driven by the start of internal testing and leaked descriptions of how the package works, alongside expectations that it will go live soon.
Tencent internal testing positions qclaw as a local one-click startup package
Tencent has recently been developing qclaw and has moved it into an internal testing phase, based on descriptions circulating from a leaked internal test introduction. In those materials, qclaw is presented primarily as a local, one-click startup package that users download, install, and deploy on their own computers.
The leaked internal testing description frames the core product form as local deployment: after installation, users can run the package on-device rather than relying on a remote setup. The same description says that if a user has already installed OpenClaw locally, qclaw can associate with that existing installation with a single click.
OpenClaw “Little Red Lobster” and the ‘Crayfish’ codename shape the rollout
The internal testing narrative ties qclaw closely to OpenClaw, an AI open-source agent that has recently gone viral and is nicknamed “Little Red Lobster, ” a reference to its red lobster icon. In the same reporting, qclaw is also described with a codename, “Crayfish. ”
OpenClaw itself is described as software that can execute tasks through natural-language commands, including file organization and email sending and receiving, and can even take over device operations. In the leaked description, qclaw is positioned not as an agent framework rewritten from scratch, but as a productized encapsulation built around OpenClaw to make it easier for ordinary users to run, connect, and use.
Kimi and MiniMax model support appears central as Tencent targets a near-term launch
Beyond packaging and deployment, the internal testing description emphasizes model compatibility. Qclaw is described as supporting models including Kimi and models made by MiniMax, and it is also described as compatible with custom models.
Both descriptions of the project characterize qclaw as expected to be launched soon. Still, as of press time, Tencent had not responded publicly to the report.
The next expected milestone is qclaw moving from internal testing to a live launch, though no specific ET time for a release has been provided. If Tencent confirms a go-live schedule, the rollout timing and availability details are expected to become clearer shortly after any official announcement.
