Understanding the Ontario Trillium Benefit
The Ontario Trillium Benefit is a tax-free assistance program that consolidates three key credits:

To be eligible for the OTB, residents must qualify for at least one of these payments.

- Up to $285 for individuals living on a reserve or in long-term care homes.
- Up to $25 for students living in designated college or university residences.
The Northern Ontario Energy Credit aims to help residents tackle higher energy costs. Single individuals can receive a maximum of $185, while families can receive up to $285.
