Apple to Unveil Vibrant New iMac Colors This Year

Apple is set to refresh its iMac lineup later this year, introducing vibrant new colors. This information comes from Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, hinting at exciting updates for iMac enthusiasts.

Current iMac Color Options

The existing iMac, featuring the M4 chip, was launched in October 2024. It is available in seven colors:

  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Silver

These color options emerged during the M4 iMac refresh, reflecting a variation of the original palette first introduced with the M1 iMac.

Upcoming iMac Updates

Apple had skipped a color update during the M3 iMac release and didn’t introduce the M2 chip for iMac. Now, latest reports indicate that the company aims to launch an iMac refresh with a new color palette.

Potential Hardware Enhancements

While it’s unclear if new colors will be entirely novel or simply variations of existing shades, there is anticipation for a processor upgrade. The current M5 chip powers several devices, including the new MacBook Air.

There are speculations that Apple may wait for the M6 chip before finalizing the iMac update. Furthermore, Gurman noted that Apple is exploring options for future iMac models featuring more powerful processors and larger displays.

Consumer Input

As fans await the color refresh, Apple is keen to hear from customers about what colors they’d like to see on the iMac.
