Raducanu closed the match in two sets, taking the first set 6-1 and the second 6-3 to secure progression to the third round. She won a dominant share of points on serve in the opening set, converting a high percentage of first-serve points and conceding only six points across four service games in that set.

The British number one raced to a 3-0 lead in the opening set before Zakharova recorded her first game.
