Sarah Strong Breaks UConn Steals Record — Big East Player of the Year Shines
It took UConn star Sarah Strong less than five minutes to grab her fourth steal of the game, breaking the Huskies' program record for steals by a sophomore. The 2026 Big East Player of the Year surpassed two-time All-American Moriah Jefferson with her 107th steal of the season, intercepting a pass from Creighton freshman Ava Zediker and converting it into a layup.
Strong finished with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting — including a perfect 4-for-4 from three — adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 6 steals, and 3 blocks.
KK Arnold and Azzi Fudd Also Star — Historic Numbers for Both
Junior guard KK Arnold started 8-for-8 from the field and finished with 18 points on 88.9 percent shooting, setting a new career high against an NCAA opponent. Redshirt senior Azzi Fudd added 16 points going 3-for-4 on three-pointers with six assists, becoming just the third player in program history to log at least 100 three-pointers and 100 assists in a single season.
Fudd, Arnold, and Strong — all first-team All-Big East selections — missed only three shots combined in the first half. It was a performance that made the final score feel entirely believable.
