The Big East said Hurley’s conduct occurred in the final moments of the March 7 matchup at Marquette. With one second remaining, Hurley received two technical fouls for aggressively confronting a game official, the conference said.
Those technical fouls led to Hurley’s ejection in the final second. The Big East also said Hurley then failed to leave the court in a timely manner.
The conference set the fine at $25, 000.

Val Ackerman says Big East will not tolerate inappropriate interactions
Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman addressed the league’s standard for sideline conduct in an official statement. “We hold our coaches to high standards of sportsmanlike conduct during game competition, and inappropriate interactions with our officials will not be tolerated, ” Ackerman said.
For now, the conference has described the fine and the review it conducted, while also stating that its available materials did not confirm physical contact. The next confirmed milestone is any further conference communication tied to the March 7 game at Marquette; if the Big East issues additional action or clarification, that would come in a subsequent official statement with an ET release time.
