On Friday, Round Five of the ongoing Trafalgar competition was played. Rob Poirrier and Steve Gay each recorded an excellent 42 points and climbed the table as a result. Steve Woodbury and Chris Durman took second on countback with 41 points, ahead of Doug Hayhoe and Pete Young, who posted one over par gross on the back nine.
After five rounds, the leaders based on the best four scores recorded are Dave Oatridge and Roger Green, followed by Mike O’Keefe and Karl Granger, and the pairing of Steve Gay and Rob Poirrier. Scores remain close in the Trafalgar standings.

The week began with a Bowmaker competition that produced two groups returning to the clubhouse with 69 points. After countback, the winners were Peter Young, Trevor Stephens and Peter Chapple with 69 points, ahead of Steve Gay, Doug Hayhoe and Malcolm Bruce. Third place finished on 68 points and comprised Roger Read, Tony Connolly and Karl Granger.
Midweek, a full entry played a Stableford that delivered strong individual scores. Noel Munson won that event with 38 points, Doug Hayhoe finished second with 36, and Bob Arthington took third with 35 on countback ahead of Nigel Trevelyan.
Round Four of the Trafalgar was also contested earlier in the week, with Karl Granger and Mike O’Keefe recording a winning score of 42 points. Rob Poirrier and Steve Gay were second with 40 points, while Dave Ball and Trevor Stephens placed third on countback with 39, ahead of Steve Woodbury and Chris Durman.
