Correction language included in prior coverage was updated on March 6th to reflect Valve’s clarification that the products will ship this year; an earlier version of coverage said Valve’s new hardware might not launch this year, and that statement was corrected after the blog post change. The March 6th correction addresses that previous misinterpretation of the company’s wording.
Valve’s public remarks have repeatedly emphasized manufacturing learnings from past hardware efforts and the role of software compatibility improvements, and the company framed its hardware push as informed by those experiences.
