Alpine, Latin American Fans Gain Mercado Libre Renewal for Franco Colapinto Campaign

Friday at 9: 00 a. m. ET Alpine confirmed that Mercado Libre will continue its sponsorship of Franco Colapinto, a move that secures visible commercial backing for Colapinto as the team heads into the Australian Grand Prix on the eve of the new Formula 1 season.

Franco Colapinto and Latin American fans see renewed Mercado Libre backing

Millions of Formula 1 fans across Latin America stand to see a familiar presence on the grid as Mercado Libre recommits to supporting Franco Colapinto, extending a relationship that has followed the driver through much of his motorsport career. The partnership keeps the handshake logo among Colapinto’s most recognisable sponsor badges and arrives as he prepares to start his third year in Formula 1.

Alpine confirms Mercado Libre renewal ahead of Australian Grand Prix practice

Alpine confirmed the re-signing of the Franco Colapinto-linked sponsor ahead of practice Friday in Melbourne, saying the online marketplace will continue to appear on the A526. The renewal was notable after the brand was conspicuously missing from the car at launch, and the announcement came on the eve of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

Flavio Briatore and Sean Summers comment on the strengthened partnership

Alpine executive adviser Flavio Briatore said the team and Mercado Libre share a vision rooted in innovation and high performance, and emphasised the sponsor’s role in strengthening Alpine’s connection with Latin America. Sean Summers, EVP and CMO of Mercado Libre, reflected on the company’s decision to back young talent early in his career and framed the renewal as a continuation of a long-term commitment to Colapinto and regional motorsport engagement.

Colapinto expressed appreciation for the continued support, calling his third Formula 1 season both a challenge and a dream come true and saying Mercado Libre’s belief in him gives new meaning to his preparations for the Australian Grand Prix.

If the agreement remains in place, the handshake logo will continue to appear on the A526 for the season starting with the Australian Grand Prix.
