Born March 22, 1939, in the Bronx, Wernick graduated from NYU and served in the Army from 1960 to 1962. He later worked as an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Peter Stark Producing Program and volunteered in the Cedars Sinai emergency room, roles that reflected both his industry experience and community involvement.
