Players of Pokemon Legends: Z-A can now enjoy a complimentary alpha version of popular starter Pokemon. This exciting offer follows the game’s recent expansion, Mega Dimension, which launched on October 15, 2026, and introduces new questlines and Mega Evolutions. Since its release in late 2025, Pokemon Legends: Z-A has consistently provided players with rewards through its Mystery Gift system.

How to Download Z-A for a Complimentary Alpha Starter Access

To claim this free alpha starter access, players on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 must connect their game to the mobile version of Pokemon HOME. This cloud service allows players to transfer and store Pokemon between various connected games. However, players should note that the feature to transfer Pokemon from Legends: Z-A to HOME is not yet available.

Rewards for Connection

Despite the lack of transfer functionality, players who connect to Pokemon HOME will receive a level 5 Alpha version of Generation 2 starters: Totodile and Chikorita, along with Tepig from Pokemon Black and White. These Pokemon can also be found in Lumiose City, but locating them can be challenging.

Players will typically see these Pokemon in Wild Areas after completing “A Big Ol’ Bunnelby,” a required side mission.
