USA vs Brazil WBC Score: Team USA Crushes Brazil 15-5 in World Baseball Classic 2026 Opener
Team USA baseball delivered an emphatic statement Friday night in Houston, demolishing Brazil 15-5 in the USA vs Brazil WBC opener at Daikin Park. Aaron Judge hit a first-inning home run as captain, while Brice Turang emerged as the night's unlikely hero — and Team USA now moves to 1-0 in World Baseball Classic 2026 pool play.
USA Baseball Score: 15-5 Final — Judge Homers, Turang Clears the Bases
Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer and Brice Turang had three hits and four RBIs to lead the United States to a 15-5 win over Brazil in the WBC opener Friday night.
The game was barely 10 minutes old when Aaron Judge unloaded on a Bo Takahashi fastball for a two-run homer, hinting that a blowout might be on the horizon. A raucous Daikin Park crowd of 30,825 showed up hoping for fireworks — and early on, they got them.
Team USA's first breakout arrived in the fifth inning. Alex Bregman, Cal Raleigh, and Roman Anthony drew three straight walks to load the bases. Byron Buxton was then hit by a pitch to score one run. Brice Turang doubled to left field to clear the bases and give USA a commanding lead.
Brice Turang Steals the Show in USA vs Brazil Baseball
Turang ended the night 3-for-6 with a team-high four RBIs and one run scored. At one point in the eighth inning, Team USA was 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position. When it was all said and done, Team USA went 5-for-21 with RISP and left 13 men on base.
Team USA hitters walked 17 times, compared to just 10 hits. The seven-run ninth inning had three singles and five walks. The Americans still scored 15 runs. This is a good illustration of what makes the offense so dangerous — bats can slump, but with so much traffic, runs will happen eventually.
Mason Miller Closes It, Logan Webb Dominates for Team USA WBC
Logan Webb allowed one run over four innings to get the win. Mason Miller finished the game, striking out his final three batters after walking Dante Bichette Jr. to lead off the ninth inning.
After a leadoff home run in the first, Webb retired all 12 batters he faced after that, dominating with pinpoint command through four shutout innings following the solo shot.
Brazil's Lucas Ramirez Homers Twice With Father Manny in the Stands
Lucas Ramirez — with his father, 12-time All-Star Manny Ramirez, in attendance — homered twice for Brazil. He cut the lead to 2-1 with a leadoff homer, and his solo shot in the eighth got Brazil within 8-5.
At 20 years, 49 days old, he became the youngest player in WBC history to hit multiple home runs in a single game. Brazil fell to 0-4 all-time in World Baseball Classic play.
