Jack Osbourne Shares Reflections on Ozzy’s Passing: ‘He Accepted His Journey’

In a recent podcast appearance, Jack Osbourne reflected on the passing of his father, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne. During the discussion on Jamie Kennedy’s “Hate To Break It To Ya,” Jack shared his initial reaction to his father’s death, which came just weeks after Ozzy’s final performance with BLACK SABBATH in July 2025.

Jack Osbourne on Ozzy’s Passing

Jack admitted that Ozzy’s death at the age of 76 was unexpected. He noted everyone was aware of his father’s illness but didn’t foresee that things would progress so quickly. “I think he was done,” Jack said, recalling a conversation where Ozzy expressed a desire to cut his hair, mentioning, “I’ve retired. I’m not a rock star anymore.”

Jack remembered the day his father passed away as ordinary. “It wasn’t anything dramatic at all,” he explained. Ozzy had breakfast, was up and about, staying true to his routine before his sudden demise.

The Final Hours

Sharon Osbourne also shared poignant details of their last moments together. In an interview with Piers Morgan on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” she recounted how Ozzy was restless that night, going back and forth to the bathroom. They shared affectionate moments with Sharon recalling his request, “Kiss me. Hug me tight.”

Tragically, Ozzy succumbed to a heart attack shortly after their intimate moments. Sharon described how she realized he had passed as attempts to resuscitate him began. Despite warnings from his doctor about his health, Ozzy insisted on performing one last show.

Community’s Farewell and Ozzy’s Legacy

Following his death on July 22, 2025, a private funeral took place on July 31 at the family estate in Buckinghamshire. The service was attended by 110 close friends, family, and notable figures from the music industry, including his BLACK SABBATH bandmates.

The day before the funeral, fans gathered in Birmingham, Ozzy’s hometown, to pay their respects. Jack, Kelly, and Aimée Osbourne joined the crowds to commemorate their father’s legacy.

Final Performance

Ozzy’s last performance at the “Back To The Beginning” charity concert featured the iconic BLACK SABBATH lineup and was a powerful emotional farewell. He played a five-song set including classics from his solo career and several BLACK SABBATH hits, sitting on a throne as he expressed gratitude to the audience. “You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told the fans.
