The Met Office indicates a strong chance that March, April, and May will be warmer and drier than usual. In fact, there is more than double the typical likelihood of enjoying above-average spring temperatures.

The outlook presents a potential for cold spells, particularly in early spring, which may include incidents of snow and ice. This week, the southern and southeastern parts of the UK will likely experience temperatures nearing 20°C. In contrast, northern and western areas may encounter rain during the middle of the week.
Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir elaborated that many regions would enjoy dry conditions and sunshine as they move into Thursday. The eastern parts of the country could see the highest temperatures, potentially reaching 18°C or 19°C in areas like the home counties.
However, she also indicated that northern England, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland might face colder temperatures and frost, particularly as high-pressure systems settle over the region.
