Michael J. Fox made a memorable appearance at the 32nd SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards in 2026, leaving fans delighted. The ceremony, held on March 1 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, featured an opening sequence titled “I Am an Actor.” Fox, now 64, reflected on his journey, recalling how his teacher had once told him that his looks would fade. He humorously responded, “Maybe just long enough, sir.”
Celebrating Family and Career
During his speech, Fox also celebrated his family. He proudly mentioned his wife, Tracy Pollan, 65, who he met on the set of “Family Ties.” The couple married in 1988 and has four children: Sam, 36; twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, 31; and Esmé, 24. He quipped about their presence, saying, “If I weren’t an actor, they wouldn’t be here.” Sam, who attended the ceremony with him, was affectionately referred to as his date.
A Journey with Parkinson’s
Fox’s life has been impacted by Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis at 29. He publicly revealed his health struggles in 1998 but continues to advocate for research through his nonprofit organization. Fox recently commented on living with the condition, stating, “You don’t die from Parkinson’s. You die with Parkinson’s.” He acknowledged the challenges of his situation, saying, “Every day it’s tougher.”
Return to Acting
Though he stepped away from acting in 2020, Fox returned in the third season of the Apple TV+ series “Shrinking.” The show’s cocreator, Bill Lawrence, expressed admiration for Fox’s approach to his diagnosis. He stated that they aimed to portray Parkinson’s in an inspiring way, reflecting Fox’s resilience.
