Nfl Combine: Top prospects, workout predictions and early results from Indianapolis

The 2026 nfl combine has converged on Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where more than 300 prospects will receive official measurements, undergo medical evaluations, interview with teams and work out for NFL scouts, coaches and front office executives; on-field drills begin Thursday and the event sits squarely in the lead-up to the 2026 NFL draft.

Nfl Combine schedule and TV details

Organizers set a packed schedule across several days: defensive linemen, linebackers and special teams are first on Thursday at 3 p. m. ET, defensive backs and tight ends follow Friday at 3 p. m. ET, quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs go Saturday at 1 p. m. ET, and offensive linemen close things out Sunday at 1 p. m. ET. The broader window for the event runs Feb. 23 through March 2, with on-field workouts taking place from Feb. 26 through March 1. Coverage is on NFL Network.

Early standout times and workout-day results

Workout-day results have already produced headline numbers. Texas Tech's David Bailey posted an official 4. 50 in the 40-yard dash. Ohio State products Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese finished with official times of 4. 46, tied for the fastest of the day among linebackers, edge rushers and defensive linemen; both players also recorded unofficial marks of 4. 47 in later attempts, and Reese had an earlier unofficial 4. 49 in his first try. The unofficial times circulated during live coverage and drew attention alongside the official numbers.

Experts on the prospects: who could move up

Draft analysts on site include Mel Kiper Jr., Matt Miller, Jordan Reid and Field Yates, and national commentators Mike Tannenbaum and Dan Graziano examined Fernando Mendoza's potential combine week after Mendoza's decision not to throw there. Miller highlighted Kenyon Sadiq, a tight end from Oregon listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, with evaluators projecting a vertical north of 41 inches and a 40-yard dash in the low 4. 5s. Reid flagged Sonny Styles, an Ohio State linebacker at 6-foot-4 and 243 pounds, who evaluators expect to run in the mid-to-high 4. 5 range and exceed 40 inches in the vertical while possibly touching 11 feet on the broad jump. Kiper singled out Kadyn Proctor, a 6-foot-7, 366-pound offensive tackle from Alabama, pointing to an 11-yard screen reception against Georgia and a drive to a first down versus Missouri as proof of his explosiveness and raw upper-body strength that could bolster a case to remain at left tackle and go in Round 1. Field Yates noted Monroe Freeling, a 6-foot-7, 315-pound tackle from Georgia, as one of the top 15 O-line athletes expected to work out.

Broadcast teams, guests and club comments on-site

Paul Gutierrez has been joined on site by Bucky Brooks, Charles Davis and Jeffri Chadiha, and by Cynthia Frelund, Rhett Lewis and Kirk Morrison. Coaches and executives have also spoken from Indianapolis: Head Coach Klint Kubiak addressed the combine while discussing the promotion of defensive coordinator Rob Leonard and mentioned Maxx Crosby among other topics; General Manager John Spytek discussed Klint Kubiak, Maxx Crosby and the combine in separate remarks. A sideline media moment drew reaction when Kyle Hamilton (@kyledhamilton_) tweeted on Feb. 27, 2026, “I just got brutally framemogged /ar4bhkyIJT” to call out a side-by-side TV graphic of his draft profile next to Sonny Styles.

Historical clips and earlier combine highlights on hand

The on-site programming has also referenced past combine moments: producers are featuring “best moments” reels from prior scouting combines, including the second group and first group of quarterbacks and wide receivers from the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, running backs, offensive linemen, safeties, linebackers, cornerbacks, tight ends and defensive linemen from 2025, and quarterbacks highlights from the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. Those clips are being used to frame current performances and compare testing drills across position groups.

With on-field drills set to run through Sunday and an official on-field window from Feb. 26 through March 1, scouts will continue testing and interviewing prospects across the week; the next confirmed on-field sessions are the defensive linemen, linebackers and special teams group at 3 p. m. ET on Thursday.
