March 8 marks International Women’s Day, a global occasion dedicating itself to recognizing the achievements of women across various fields. Events are planned on Salt Spring Island to celebrate this significant day through collaboration, storytelling, and film.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the transformative impact of care, courage, and generosity among women. To honor this, The Circle Education and local organizations have organized a series of inspiring events.

March 6: Film Screening of *Between the Mountain and the Sky*

The first event takes place on March 6 at ArtSpring. *Between the Mountain and the Sky* tells the remarkable true story of Maggie Doyne, who founded an orphanage in Nepal at just 19. This screening, in collaboration with the Salt Spring Film Festival, will commence at 7:30 p.m.
