Megan Moroney Cloud 9 Update Today: New Album Out, $9 Shows, Ed Sheeran Collab and Arena Tour Ahead
Megan Moroney

Megan Moroney is officially floating on Cloud 9 — and country music is along for the ride. The Georgia-born singer-songwriter dropped her third studio album, Cloud 9, on February 20, 2026, and has spent the past week pulling off one of the most creative, fan-first album launches in recent country music history. From $9 surprise shows to star-studded collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, Megan Moroney is making her biggest move yet.

Cloud 9: What's on the New Megan Moroney Album

Megan Moroney's Cloud 9 is a 15-track third studio album that marks a clear creative evolution — trading some of her earlier heartbreak-forward energy for a brighter, more confident tone without abandoning the raw emotional honesty that built her fanbase. She described the shift simply: "I didn't overthink anything. I didn't try to make it check any box. I just was being myself the entire way through."

The album's color era has also flipped — goodbye blue, hello pink. Moroney explained the symbolism: "Pink is strong and confident and sassy, but soft, and allowed to be soft because of the confidence."

Standout tracks and talking points from Cloud 9 include:

Megan Moroney's $9 Surprise Show Strategy: "9 Cities. 9 Days."

Rather than a standard press cycle, Megan Moroney launched Cloud 9 with a guerrilla-style fan tour called "9 Cities. 9 Days." — intimate, surprise performances at venues across the country with tickets priced at just $9 USD. Stops included New York, Richmond, Athens (her college town near the University of Georgia), Nashville, Denver, and Scottsdale, among others.

In Athens, Moroney took to Instagram to announce a show at Akins Ford Arena where she played the entire Cloud 9 album front to back — every song, top to bottom. Fans lined up outside the box office starting at 7:00 a.m. ET to grab their $9 tickets, with a portion of all proceeds benefiting the Megan Moroney Foundation, which focuses on combating bullying and raising mental health awareness.

In New York, she surprised fans at a Raising Cane's restaurant — a brand she has a longstanding partnership with — popping behind the counter to take photos and sign limited edition Cloud 9 posters. "My Twitter bio used to say, 'Can I please get a Box Combo with an extra sauce and a Sprite,'" she told press at the event.

The Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves Collaborations

The two biggest conversation-starters on Cloud 9 are its high-profile duets. The Ed Sheeran collaboration had been the most requested by fans, and Moroney admitted she kept the secret with visible difficulty. "I hate keeping secrets. I wanna tell my fans every aspect of my life always," she said.

The Kacey Musgraves collaboration on "Bells & Whistles" carries deep personal meaning for Moroney, who credits Musgraves' breakout album Same Trailer Different Park with inspiring her to start writing her own songs. "She didn't change a syllable, she didn't change a word," Moroney said of Musgraves' performance. "That's just like the Super Bowl for me."

Honors, Recognition and What's Next

Just before the album dropped, Moroney was honored by Alicia Keys' nonprofit She Is The Music at their second annual Sharing the Spotlight event in West Hollywood on February 18, recognized alongside her majority-female team. "I have the best team in the world. They work their asses off," she told the crowd.

The Megan Moroney Cloud 9 Tour — a full-scale arena run across North America — is set to launch in late May 2026 before extending internationally, marking the biggest headline tour of her career.
