Jessica Alba Finalizes Divorce from Cash Warren, Will Pay $3 Million to Equalize Split
Jessica Alba has legally closed a nearly two-decade chapter, finalizing her divorce from film producer Cash Warren. The settlement outlines custody arrangements, a financial equalization payment and the formal restoration of Alba’s legal name.
Financial terms: $3 million in two non-taxable installments
Court documents filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court show Alba will make a $3 million payment to Warren to even out the division of marital assets. The payment is structured as two non-taxable installments: $1. 5 million payable immediately and a second $1. 5 million due one year later.
Neither party will receive spousal support under the final decree. The agreement closes the financial chapter of the marital settlement while leaving both parties free from future spousal obligations.
Custody, separation date and legal details
The divorce papers establish joint custody of the couple’s three children: Honor, 17; Haven, 14; and Hayes, 8. The documents list Dec. 27, 2024 (ET) as the official date of separation and show that the formal divorce petition was filed in February 2025 (ET).
Alba has legally restored her maiden name and the final judgment dissolves the marriage after 16 years. The filing cites irreconcilable differences as the basis for the dissolution.
Public announcement and what’s next
The end to the marriage followed a public statement in January 2025 (ET) in which Alba described a long personal evolution. In that post she wrote, "I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash, " signaling that the decision had been considered and deliberate.
Although the legal process is complete, both parents remain committed to co-parenting under the joint custody arrangement. The settlement’s non-support terms and the lump-sum equalization payment suggest the couple prioritized a clean financial break and stability for their children as they move forward.
This development concludes the legal aspects of a relationship that began nearly two decades ago and shifts the couple into separate personal and professional chapters.
