The northern region of Taiwan is enjoying clear and sunny weather today, with warmer temperatures. However, this pleasant weather will soon change as a cold front and northeast monsoon are expected to arrive tomorrow.

According to the Central Weather Bureau, tomorrow marks the start of a cooler spell. Heavy rain is forecasted for areas along the northern coastline of Keelung. The cold front will influence much of northern Taiwan and eastern regions beginning early in the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Meteorologist Liu Pei-teng emphasizes that this cold front will persist into the second day of the Lunar New Year. Rainfall will vary, with chances of localized showers in northern and northeastern Taiwan as well as the Hengchun Peninsula.

Despite the anticipated drop in temperatures, areas in central and southern Taiwan can expect relatively stable and comfortable conditions. Overnight lows in the central and southern regions will range from 15-16°C.
