Three Inducted into P.E.I. Business Hall of Fame
Three prominent figures in Prince Edward Island’s business landscape are set to receive honors for their lasting impact. Harvey Stewart, Kathy Hambly, and Robert K. Irving will be inducted into the Junior Achievement P.E.I. Business Hall of Fame on May 21. This honor aims to celebrate exemplary business leadership and inspire Island students.
Honorees of the P.E.I. Business Hall of Fame
Harvey Stewart
Harvey Stewart is recognized as the founder of H.F. Stewart and Sons and Trout River Industries. Both companies have significantly contributed to manufacturing and construction sectors in P.E.I. Stewart is also the fire chief of the West Point Fire Department, where he has served for over four decades. His company, Trout River Industries, exports live bottom trailers throughout North America and to international markets including Mexico, Australia, and the Middle East.
Kathy Hambly
Kathy Hambly has dedicated her career to fostering entrepreneurship in P.E.I. She founded Katherine’s Ltd., a retail clothing business, and has served as the executive director of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she holds the position of vice-chair of the Charlottetown Airport Authority. Hambly has also contributed to Maritime Electric Company Ltd. as chair of its human resources and corporate governance committee and served on the board of governors at the University of Prince Edward Island.
Robert K. Irving
Robert K. Irving is the president of Cavendish Farms, which operates four frozen potato processing plants across North America, two of which are located in P.E.I. He is known for his commitment to community betterment, actively supporting youth education and literacy initiatives. Irving has a long history of community involvement, notably co-chairing a capital campaign for Holland College.
