Singer Proposes Car Design with Both Pop-Up and Fixed Headlights
Singer has officially debuted the Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, an elite restomod limited to just 75 units. This vehicle celebrates the iconic air-cooled era while offering an open-top version of last year’s successful Coupe. It features cutting-edge engineering that harmonizes vintage aesthetics with modern performance capabilities.
Design and Specifications
The 911 Carrera Cabriolet showcases two distinct styles: the Pacific Blue Touring and the Guards Red Sport. Both designs utilize lightweight carbon fiber for their bodywork, enhancing performance and elegance.
- Pacific Blue Touring: This version features an active rear spoiler and a touring-style splitter.
- Guards Red Sport: This model is equipped with a more aggressive front, larger air intakes, and a fixed whale tail wing.
Each model’s interior is equally impressive, highlighting features such as:
- Ink leather upholstery with red accents for the Touring model.
- Tangerine leather-wrapped sports seats for the Sport model.
- Hand-built gauges, modern air conditioning, and a reworked steering wheel.
Exceptional Performance
At the core of the 911 Carrera Cabriolet is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine developed by Cosworth. This powerhouse delivers:
- 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS).
- 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
The engine can rev beyond 8,000 rpm and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Optional exposed mechanisms allow drivers to witness the engineering marvel in action. A titanium exhaust system provides a thrilling sound to match its robust performance.
Chassis and Handling Enhancements
This model is constructed on a fortified Type 964 monocoque chassis, increasing torsional rigidity. Enhancements include:
- Four-way electronically controlled adjustable dampers.
- A nose lift system for improved clearance.
- Options for carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
With five available driving modes—Road, Sport, Track, Off, and Weather—drivers can seamlessly adjust traction and stability control. Singer emphasizes that only 75 units of the Carrera Cabriolet will be produced globally, making this a rare collector’s item.
Pricing and Availability
While pricing specifics for the 911 Carrera Cabriolet have not been officially disclosed, it is expected to fall within the seven-figure range. The convertible is set to appeal to automotive enthusiasts looking for a blend of classic style and modern performance.
