During promotions for his new show, The Summit, Ben disclosed that he and Annie tend to lead “quite separate lives.” He described Annie as someone who enjoys solitude, often requesting her space. “Half the time she’s like, ‘I need a bit of space. Can you leave me alone for five seconds, please?’” he explained in an interview.

Adventures in New Zealand

Ben recently wrapped up filming for The Summit, set against the stunning backdrop of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. The show features 14 competitors racing to the summit for a £200,000 prize. Ben recounted the unpredictable weather conditions during filming, which shifted rapidly from sunshine to rain and snow.

“I was always thrilled that I was going to be helicoptered back down the mountain to my hotel,” he shared, highlighting the comfort he experienced compared to the competitors living in tents.

Family Dynamics

Despite their differences, Ben considers Annie the cornerstone of their family. He acknowledged her vital role in shaping their sons and improving his parenting skills. As their sons prepare for life beyond their home, the couple anticipates changes in their family dynamic. Jack, a teaching assistant, plans to travel, while Sam is pursuing mathematics at university.

“Having been surrounded by boys, it’s going to be quieter,” Ben remarked. “It is already.”
