The incident occurred just nine days after Vonn had ruptured ligaments in her knee. While racing in Cortina, she unfortunately struck a gate, leading to her injury. After the crash, she was airlifted to a hospital in Treviso, where doctors diagnosed her with a severe tibia fracture.

Vonn’s fourth surgery is planned for the coming Saturday. She mentioned that another procedure will follow once she returns home to the United States. “I have a long, long way to go,” she stated, expressing hope for a successful operation, which may allow her to leave the hospital afterward.
