PlayStation State of Play 2026 Games: Every Announcement From February’s Showcase
The February 2026 State of Play stacked more than an hour of reveals, fresh trailers, demos, and a surprise launch. From a God of War one-two punch to long-awaited updates and cult-favorite comebacks, here’s the full rundown of what hit during the show.
God of War dominates with a trilogy remake and an immediate new release
The showcase opened the floodgates for the franchise by unveiling a remake of the original God of War trilogy, bringing Kratos’ early saga to current hardware with modernized visuals and refinements. The momentum didn’t stop there: a brand-new entry, God of War: Sons of Sparta, was shadow-dropped during the broadcast and is available now on PS5. The pairing gave the event its biggest one-two punch, anchoring the slate with both nostalgia and something new to play right away.
Bond’s origin teased; Kena returns; co-op spirits rise
A new story trailer for 007 First Light offered a closer look at an original origin for James Bond. The footage follows Bond’s exploits in Iceland, putting him on the radar of a newly revived 00 program and into the orbit of a steely instructor, John Greenway. The teaser closes on a cat-and-mouse setup with a rogue former operative codenamed 009.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora brought a welcome sequel reveal. Set years after the first adventure, an older, more seasoned Kena now guides the living as much as the lost, wielding a new staff and journeying alongside a fox-like spirit companion that appears to evolve into a mount later in the quest.
Elsewhere in the supernatural lane, Ghost of Yōtei Legends was unveiled as a four-player online co-op mode arriving alongside Patch 1. 5. It features four distinct classes and a demonic rogues’ gallery dubbed the Yōtei Six, positioning teams to carve through mythic challenges together.
Deep dives and new demos: Control, 4: Loop, and more
Control Resonant resurfaced with a striking gameplay reveal focused on traversal and reality-bending combat. Protagonist Dylan Faden sprints across building faces and through a Manhattan perpetually folding in on itself, as shapeshifting weapons and gravity anomalies reshape both battles and navigation.
The four-player co-op shooter 4: Loop got a systems-focused breakdown highlighting emergent encounters and squad synergy. A call for public hands-on opportunities accompanied the segment, with players encouraged to register for upcoming playtests.
Crimson Moon debuted as a heavy-metal-soaked co-op action RPG starring half-human, half-angel protagonists. The reveal trailer cuts through skeletal hordes in grand cathedrals and moonlit courtyards, planting its flag for a release later this year.
Capstone updates: Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem
Sci-fi adventure Pragmata returned with an extended look at its otherworldly New York and the bond between dual leads Diana and Hugh. The latest trailer closed on a welcome surprise: a hands-on gameplay demo is available now, offering an early taste of the gravity-defying action.
Horror fans got another intense glimpse of Resident Evil Requiem, which switches between first- and third-person play. The footage pairs series mainstay Leon S. Kennedy with newcomer Grace Ashcroft and crescendos with Leon stepping back into a long-abandoned Raccoon City Police Department, years after the events of Resident Evil 2.
Classics reborn: Legacy of Kain, Castlevania, Brigandine
The Legacy of Kain saga returns with Defiance Remastered, bringing the 2003 finale forward with new character skins, restored lost levels, and a photo mode. The series isn’t just looking back, either—there was also a tease for a new 2D action game set in the same universe.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse reimagines the side-scrolling formula for modern hardware, blending new weapons and abilities with a fresh art style while preserving the series’ gothic bite. Strategy diehards, meanwhile, can mark their calendars for Brigandine Abyss, which expands the grid-based fantasy warfare with over 100 unit classes and six main storylines.
Fighting updates, PC news, and an indie date
The fighting front lit up with Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, an enhanced PS5 edition bundling the roster of DLC characters and an upgraded photo mode. Post-launch support is already on deck with additional fighters and costumes in the pipeline, and a free-to-play version lands at launch for anyone curious to jump in. The kicker: another Dead or Alive game is officially in development.
On the PC side, Death Stranding 2 is trekking to computers less than a year after its PS5 release. The port touts unlocked frame rates, ultra-wide support, DualSense features, and modern upscaling and frame generation options.
Rounding out the slate, Beast of Reincarnation locked in an August 4 launch on PS5. The one-person, one-dog action RPG swaps between real-time swordplay as Emma and command-based inputs for canine companion Koo, all set against a far-future Japan scarred by catastrophe.
With shadow drops, demos, remasters, and a spread of brand-new worlds, February’s State of Play delivered a dense preview of what’s coming to players in 2026 and beyond—and in a few cases, what’s waiting for them right now.
