Mexican Restaurant Set to Revitalize Kenny B’s Bluffton Location
A new chapter begins in Bluffton with the opening of Alchile Mexican Grill in the former Kenny B’s French Quarter Cafe location. This family-owned restaurant, based in Ridgeland, will welcome guests in April 2026, just in time for Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
Transitioning from Kenny B’s to Alchile Mexican Grill
The Kenny B’s location at 1534 Fording Island Road has a rich history. Originally opened in January 1999 as a celebrated destination for New Orleans-style cuisine, it became a fixture in Hilton Head for nearly three decades. However, the restaurant permanently closed, paving the way for Alchile Mexican Grill to establish its presence in the area.
Expanding Community Roots
Owner Marcello Vera Jr. expresses excitement over this new venture. Raised in the region, Vera noted that the expansion felt like a natural progression for the successful restaurant. With six years of experience under their belt, the family-owned business aims to build on their strong community ties in Beaufort County.

Patrons can still enjoy the original Alchile location in Ridgeland, which remains open during regular hours: Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 9 p.m.
