Nanaimo RCMP Probes Disappearance of Local Man

The Nanaimo RCMP is conducting an investigation into the disappearance of a local man. The adult male was reported missing on February 9, 2026, after leaving his home and failing to return.

Nanaimo RCMP’s Efforts to Locate Missing Man

After the missing person report was filed, officers took immediate action. They searched several locations associated with the man and requested partner agencies to monitor his vehicle.

Vehicle Discovery and Security Footage

The investigation took a significant turn when the man’s vehicle was located later that night aboard a B.C. Ferry. The ferry was docked at the Tsawwassen Terminal. Security footage from the vessel showed an individual, resembling the missing man, enter the water while the ferry was in transit.

Following this revelation, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) and the RCMP West Coast Marine Services launched an extensive search of the area surrounding the ferry. This coordinated effort aims to locate the missing individual quickly and safely.
