Neil Young Drops 2026 Tour Plans

Neil Young has officially canceled his 2026 tour plans. The musician, along with his band, the Chrome Hearts, was set to start a 13-date European Love Earth tour on June 19 in Manchester, England.

Cancellation Details

The tour’s opening act was scheduled to be Elvis Costello and the Imposters for the first nine shows. In a statement on his official website, Young expressed his decision to take a break from touring. He wrote, “Thanks to everyone who bought tickets. I’m sorry to let you down, but this is not the time. I do love playing LIVE and being with you and the Chrome Hearts. LOVE Neil be well.”

Touring Band

The Chrome Hearts consist of skilled musicians:

  • Spooner Oldham – Keyboardist
  • Micah Nelson – Guitarist
  • Corey McCormick – Bassist
  • Anthony LoGerfo – Drummer

This group toured Europe and North America last year, including notable performances at Farm Aid in September and Harvest Moon: A Gathering in Lake Hughes, California, on October 25. They also supported Young on his recent solo album, “Talkin to the Trees,” released in 2025.

Recent Trends in Rock Tours

The cancellation of Young’s tour is notable as he is the second major rock artist to call off 2026 plans recently. The band Twisted Sister also canceled their 50th anniversary reunion due to singer Dee Snider’s health issues.
