Fifth Carolina Player Receives Olympic Call-Up
The Carolina Hurricanes will have five of their players competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics. Center Seth Jarvis received an invitation to join Team Canada, replacing injured player Brayden Point. Point suffered a knee injury on January 12 and is currently on injured reserve with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Details of Olympic Participation
Seth Jarvis received the call-up on February 5, 2026, just ahead of the Opening Ceremony. This addition boosts Team Canada’s roster as Jarvis joins four of his Hurricanes teammates:
- Frederik Andersen – Denmark
- Nikolaj Ehlers – Denmark
- Sebastian Aho – Finland
- Jaccob Slavin – Team USA
Team Canada’s Schedule
The men’s ice hockey event is set to kick off at the Milan Cortina Games on February 11, 2026. Team Canada is placed in Group A and will open its campaign against Czechia on February 12.
This Olympic experience could be pivotal for Jarvis, who will be making his international debut. With the stakes high and competition fierce, the added depth from Jarvis is expected to enhance Canada’s chances.
