Florida State Fair Opens in Tampa: Experience the Excitement
The Florida State Fair officially kicks off its 12-day run in Tampa, marking the first state fair event of 2026. This year, the fair features exciting attractions in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
Special Attractions for the 250th Anniversary
Among the highlights is a unique observation wheel with 45 gondolas. Each gondola is designed to pay tribute to a different American president. The fair also includes a traveling history exhibit, a patriotic water show, and a festive appearance by the Cracker Country attraction.
Entertainment and Events
Guests can look forward to a spectacular drone show during the final weekend. Fireworks displays will light up the sky on both weekends of the fair.

This year’s culinary offerings also embrace the patriotic theme. Notable food items include:
- “America’s Birthday Cake Iced Tea” with a cupcake adorned with an American flag

Themed Days and Discounts
The Florida State Fair includes special themed days to engage visitors:
- Heroes’ Day on the first Thursday (February 5) honors First Responders, Medical, and Teachers
- Freedom Friday (February 6) offers $5 admission and parking after 5 p.m.
- Bogo Sunday coincides with Super Bowl Sunday, providing buy one get one free armbands after 3 p.m.
Operating Hours
The fair opens at 10 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and President’s Day. On other days, opening time is 11 a.m.
