Dave Coulier, an acclaimed actor known for his role in Full House, has emerged victorious in his battle against cancer once again. At 66 years old, Coulier announced on Good Morning America that his latest diagnosis of p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue is now in remission. This marks a significant personal triumph following his earlier fight against Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Coulier’s journey has been nothing short of a “roller coaster ride.” The latest cancer diagnosis was revealed during a routine PET scan, which was conducted while he was being monitored for lymphoma. This timely detection played a crucial role in his recovery, as he stated, “That PET scan and early detection … saved my life.”
Medical Treatment and Support System
Following his diagnosis, Coulier underwent rigorous treatment. His medical journey included:
- Robotic surgery
- 35 radiation treatments
He described these treatments as both physically and emotionally challenging. Throughout this ordeal, Coulier leaned on the support of his wife, Melissa Bring, and his close friend, John Stamos. Stamos made a memorable visit to Michigan, donning a bald cap to lighten the mood, which resulted in laughter for Coulier during a difficult time.
However, events took an unexpected turn when Stamos contracted COVID-19 during his visit. The two friends ended up confined to their separate spaces, engaging in playful conversations with walkie-talkies, reminiscent of their childhood antics.
