Montana Coach Bobby Hauck Plans to Resign
Montana Grizzlies head football coach Bobby Hauck is poised to resign, with reports indicating that this announcement will occur on Wednesday. This information was initially reported by Skyline Sports and later confirmed by Zach Barnett of Football Scoop.
Bobby Hauck’s Tenure at Montana
Hauck has had a successful coaching career at Montana, achieving an impressive record of 151 wins and 43 losses over two separate tenures. In his first stint, Hauck left to coach the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2010. His time at UNLV was less fruitful, resulting in a record of 15 wins and 49 losses over five seasons.
Return to Montana
Returning to Montana in 2018, Hauck led the team to significant achievements. Under his guidance, the Grizzlies reached the FCS quarterfinals four times and made a semifinals appearance last season. The team finished with a strong record of 13 wins and 2 losses last year.
- Facing Montana State, the Grizzlies were defeated twice: once in the regular season and once in the FCS semifinals.
- Hauck has secured a share of the Big Sky Conference title eight times throughout his coaching career at Montana.
Promotion of Bobby Kennedy
The Grizzlies are set to promote Bobby Kennedy, the current wide receivers coach, to the head coaching position. This will mark Kennedy’s first head coaching role. A former quarterback for Northern Colorado, Kennedy has a diverse background, having been an assistant coach across various FBS programs.
Last season marked Kennedy’s debut in the FCS arena, where he made his mark as a coach for the Grizzlies. With Hauck stepping down, Kennedy’s leadership will be pivotal in maintaining the team’s competitive standard in the upcoming seasons.
