Bukayo Saka Eyes Arsenal Return for North London Derby, Misses Carabao Cup Semi-final

Bukayo Saka is targeting a return to fitness in time for this month’s North London derby. The Arsenal winger suffered a muscular injury believed to be near his hip. This injury occurred during the warm-up prior to Arsenal’s 4-0 victory over Leeds last Saturday.

Bukayo Saka Misses Carabao Cup Semi-Final

Due to the injury, Saka will miss the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea. Fortunately, the injury is not serious, and there is optimism that he will recover in time for the game against Tottenham on February 22.

Arsenal’s Upcoming Schedule

Arsenal’s timetable is favorable as they are not competing in the Champions League this month. Their next matches include:

  • Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea
  • Premier League match against Sunderland on Saturday
  • Match at Brentford the following Thursday
  • Fourth round of the FA Cup against Wigan the Sunday after

Saka aims to be back for the crucial away game at Wolves, right before the derby against Tottenham.

Stepping Up in Saka’s Absence

In Saka’s absence, Noni Madueke will take on a significant role. Madueke made an impactful contribution at Leeds, assisting a goal and scoring another from a corner. Additionally, Gabriel Martinelli is also an option to fill in on the right flank.

Max Dowman may also return soon. He has been sidelined since December due to an ankle injury but is showing positive signs in his recovery.

Saka remains eager to return to the pitch, potentially before the expected timeline if his rehabilitation progresses well.
