Trump Criticizes Grammys, Plans Lawsuit Against Trevor Noah for Epstein Joke
Former President Donald Trump expressed his discontent with this year’s Grammy Awards and announced plans to sue host Trevor Noah. The controversy stems from a joke made by Noah that linked Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
Trump Criticizes the Grammys
In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the Grammy Awards “the WORST” and described the program as “virtually unwatchable.” He shared his thoughts shortly after the awards concluded, criticizing CBS for airing the event for the last time after a lengthy run.
During the broadcast, several artists targeted the government’s strict immigration policies, but Trump’s ire was particularly directed at Noah due to a quip that referenced Epstein.
The Controversial Joke
Trevor Noah, the former host of “The Daily Show,” made a joke after Billie Eilish received the Grammy for Song of the Year. He stated, “That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone.” This remark connected Trump to Epstein, whose private Caribbean island has been linked to numerous allegations of trafficking underage girls.
Trump’s Response
In his post, Trump denied ever visiting Epstein’s island and criticized Noah’s claims as “false and defamatory.” He stated, “I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” and added that he had not faced accusations of such previously.
Insulting Noah further, Trump called him a “total loser” and indicated he would resort to legal action against the comedian. “It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C.,” Trump stated, hinting at pursuing significant damages.
