The Kiwanis Club of Clermont recently commemorated its landmark 100th anniversary with a grand celebration at the Arts and Recreation Center. This special event highlighted a century of dedicated service to the children and families in the Clermont community.

Nearly 300 attendees, including Kiwanians and community supporters, filled the main hall, creating an atmosphere of pride and nostalgia. The evening recognized the club’s rich history, present achievements, and future aspirations.

  • Special Guests: The event featured remarks from Florida Kiwanis leadership, including Tommy Mills, the 2025-2026 Florida Kiwanis Governor, and Past Governor Jeremy Riehl. They acknowledged the extraordinary legacy and ongoing impact of the Clermont club.
  • Pledge of Allegiance: Congressman Daniel Webster led guests in the Pledge of Allegiance, setting a patriotic tone for the evening.
  • Entertainment: Tim Moses served as the Master of Ceremonies, keeping the crowd engaged with entertaining remarks. The Corey Marshall Band provided a lively musical performance that encouraged dancing and celebration.
  • Culinary Delights: Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Premier Catering, followed by a birthday cake and dessert bar to celebrate the milestone.

A significant moment of the evening featured Dr. Nancy H. Cummings, EdD, who presented the club’s history. She shared stories emphasizing Kiwanis’ deep roots in Clermont. Her cousin, Chuck Seaver, the current Kiwanis Club president, also spoke of the organization’s longstanding commitment to community service, highlighting past initiatives like the free school lunch program.
