Genigods Lab, a studio based in Suzhou, has unveiled a new action RPG titled GeniGods: Nezha. This game draws significant inspiration from the acclaimed God of War series and promises a unique narrative steeped in Chinese mythology.

GeniGods: Nezha is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is optimized for PlayStation platforms in partnership with Sony. The co-founders, Erdi Yao and Young Lui, confirmed that a playable version for the PS5 Pro has been submitted to PlayStation China. The game aims to leverage the full capabilities of the PS5, including the advanced features of the DualSense controller.

Players will step into the role of Nezha, depicted as a formidable female warrior. The game’s storyline features Nezha evolving from a celestial artifact into a human crafted from water and clay. This epic adventure includes notable companions from Chinese mythology:

The development team estimates that finishing GeniGods: Nezha will take approximately 25 hours, while achieving the Platinum trophy could require about 50 hours. After two years of development, the game is anticipated for release in 2028, leading to the possibility of it being available on the upcoming PS6.
