Norwich Store Chain Enters Administration: Major Retailer Seeks Solutions

Claire’s Accessories, the well-known store chain, has entered administration, raising concerns for its future operations in the UK and Ireland. Administrators from Kroll were appointed to manage the insolvency process, impacting over 150 stores and putting around 1,000 jobs at risk.

Despite the administration announcement, Kroll has confirmed that Claire’s continues to operate as usual for the time being. The retailer has a notable presence in Norwich, with outlets in Chantry Place and Castle Quarter. However, locations in Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn have closed as part of a broader restructuring plan.

Claire’s Accessories faced severe financial challenges leading to its collapse into administration in August 2025. This situation arose after its US-based parent company declared bankruptcy. Although the brand was saved by Modella Capital, managing director Joe Price acknowledged significant issues that remained to be addressed.
