Throughout his time at Iowa State, Scheelhaase demonstrated versatility:
- Served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2022.
- Coached running backs and wide receivers, taking on the run game coordinator responsibilities from 2021-22.
- Oversaw the receivers and running backs over different seasons from 2018 to 2020.
