MTG Arena Unveils Key Updates for January 26, 2026

Magic: The Gathering Arena is set to unveil exciting updates starting January 26, 2026, highlighting competitive events tied to the latest expansion, Lorwyn Eclipsed. Players will have the opportunity to participate in various competitions and challenges as the competitive scene heats up.

Competitive Events Overview

Several key events are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks, promoting competitive play in Lorwyn Eclipsed.

Arena Direct: Lorwyn Eclipsed

From January 30 to February 1, players can join the Arena Direct event featuring Lorwyn Eclipsed. This event will focus on Best-of-One matches in a Sealed format, allowing players to earn gems, MTG Arena packs, and a Lorwyn Eclipsed Collector Booster box while supplies last.

Qualifier Play-Ins and Weekend

January 31: Best-of-One Qualifier Play-In
February 6: Best-of-Three Qualifier Play-In
February 7-8: Qualifier Weekend

These events utilize the Standard Constructed format. Additionally, a Best-of-One Sealed Play-In is scheduled for February 1 before the weekend qualifiers.

Pro Tour Lorwyn Eclipsed

The inaugural Pro Tour of 2026 will take place from January 30 to February 1, featuring top competitors battling in both Lorwyn Eclipsed Draft and Standard Constructed formats. A substantial prize pool of $500,000 will be up for grabs, along with invitations to the annual Magic World Championship.

Brawl Modified Metagame Challenge

In a special event running from January 26 to February 9, players can engage in the Brawl Modified Metagame Challenge. This tournament will allow players to utilize most collectible cards available on MTG Arena, with notable exceptions such as Oko, Thief of Crowns and Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer among others.

Arena Limited Championship Qualifier

The Arena Limited Championship Qualifier will occur from February 20 to 22, featuring Best-of-One matches with a focus on drafting Lorwyn Eclipsed. This event is pivotal for players aiming to qualify for the Arena Limited Championship and eventually the 2027 Magic Limited Championship.

New Cards and Brawl Decks

On February 3, MTG Arena will release new cards unique to the Alchemy: Lorwyn Eclipsed set, enriching the game with fresh strategies and possibilities. Additionally, the MTG Arena Store will be stocked with new Brawl decks and various themed cosmetics for players to enhance their game experience.

Seasonal Rewards

Players can expect to receive January 2026 season rewards on January 31. To qualify for these rewards, players must have participated in at least one ranked game. Rewards include:
