Massage Parlors Targeted in Prostitution Crackdown
Recent police operations in Istanbul have targeted massage parlors and gambling activities, resulting in extensive investigations across the city. These crackdowns, conducted by the Istanbul Police Department’s Public Order Branch on January 23, led to serious legal actions against individuals involved in prostitution and illegal gambling.
Details of the Crackdown on Massage Parlors
During the inspections of massage parlors, authorities evaluated 20 businesses. They identified two locations that had previously been sealed but were found operating again. Consequently, these establishments were re-sealed. Furthermore, administrative actions were taken against 32 individuals working without insurance.
Prostitution Cases and Legal Actions
In Bakirkoy, two massage parlors were discovered to be involved in prostitution activities. Legal actions were initiated against two suspects who facilitated prostitution and provided premises for these activities. Gambling Operations and Their Outcomes
On the same day, a separate operation targeting illegal gambling was carried out across 368 venues. A total of 5,215 individuals underwent general information checks, uncovering four persons wanted for various crimes.
