Winter Storm Grounds 600+ Flights, PennDOT Lowers Road Speeds at Philadelphia Airport
A severe winter storm has swept across the Delaware Valley, affecting the Philadelphia region significantly. The storm is expected to bring nearly a foot of snow from Sunday into Monday.
Winter Storm Warning and Snow Accumulation
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire area. Forecasts indicate that the I-95 corridor, which includes Philadelphia and surrounding areas, will receive between 8 to 12 inches of snow. Some interior areas, such as South Jersey, the Lehigh Valley, and Berks County, may see even higher totals of 12 to 14 inches.
Impact on Airport Operations
Philadelphia International Airport has experienced significant disruptions due to the storm. Over 600 flights have been canceled, leading the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to close several security checkpoints.

PennDOT and NJDOT Speed Limit Adjustments

- U.S. Routes 1, 30, 202, 422
- State Routes 63, 100 Spur, and 309
In New Jersey, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has lowered the speed limit to 35 mph on all interstate highways, U.S. highways, and state highways, including the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
