Organizers Aim for 500 Utes in 25th Australia Day Convoy
The 25th Australia Day Ute Run is set to be a spectacular event with a goal of gathering 500 vehicles in convoy. This annual celebration supports Variety NT, a charity dedicated to assisting children and families in the Northern Territory.
Event Overview
The Ute Run will commence with a lap around Hidden Valley Raceway. Following the lap, participants will parade through the main roads of the northern suburbs, Palmerston, and the rural area. The event will culminate at Noonamah Tavern, where an official after-party will take place.
Participant Engagement
Tania Sellers, General Manager of Variety NT, encourages everyone to join in the fun. “Every registration directly supports children and families in the Territory,” she stated. Participants are invited to creatively decorate their utes, along with themselves and even their pets, to contribute to the festive atmosphere.
Event Highlights
- Barbecue breakfast hosted by Darwin Rotary to kick off the day.
- On-site coffee van, along with merchandise and raffle tickets.
- Prizes awarded for the best-themed utes, for adults, kids, and dogs.
- A pie-eating competition and live music from Coffin Fitz during the ute display.
