WWE’s Newest Talent Hints at Royal Rumble Debut
A recent WWE signing, Matt Cardona, has hinted at a potential debut in the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. This premier event is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026. Cardona, who rejoined WWE earlier this month, took to Twitter to express his eagerness to enter this iconic stipulation match.
Royal Rumble Hype Grows
As the Royal Rumble event approaches, excitement builds with numerous renowned wrestlers confirming their participation. Among the confirmed entrants for the Men’s Rumble are:
- Cody Rhodes, a two-time Royal Rumble winner
- Jey Uso, last year’s victor
- Roman Reigns, one of WWE’s biggest stars
For the Women’s Rumble, top names include:
- Rhea Ripley
- IYO SKY
- The Judgment Day faction, consisting of Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez
Cardona’s Determination
Though Cardona’s entry is not officially confirmed, he reminisced about his last appearance in a Royal Rumble match, which occurred in 2015. He tweeted, “The last time I was in a Royal Rumble match was 2015… over 10 years ago!” This reflects both his excitement and commitment.
Cardona also shared that he has been prepared with new gear each year, even during the five years he was away from WWE. “I’ll be in Saudi Arabia next week… gear is packed… I’m ALWAYZ READY!” he stated.
Aiming for WrestleMania
Cardona has made his ambitions clear. Should he secure a spot in the Rumble, he intends to outlast his opponents and earn a chance to compete at WrestleMania. He stated, “If I’m in it, I’ll do whatever I can to throw every opponent over the top rope and head to WrestleMania! One more championship to win… I’M NOT FINISHED!”
Recently, he attempted to qualify for the number one contender four-way match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24. Unfortunately, he did not succeed, falling short to Trick Williams in that matchup.
As anticipation for the Royal Rumble continues to build, all eyes will remain on Cardona and his potential contributions to the event.
