Masked Singer Fans React as Fan-Favourite’s Identity is Revealed
The Masked Singer captivated audiences once again as a fan-favourite’s identity was uncovered, sparking lively reactions from viewers. The popular ITV series returned for a new season in 2026, featuring twelve celebrities competing under elaborate disguises. Judges Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and Maya Jama have returned to the panel, with Jama continuing her role after taking over for Rita Ora last year.
Competition Breakdown
This season, contestants are divided into two groups to enhance the viewing experience. The current groupings are as follows:
- Group One: Red Panda, Moth, Disc Jockey, Gargoyle, Sloth, Can of Worms
- Group Two: Conkers, Arctic Fox, Toastie, Teabag, Yak, Monkey Business
Unmaskings and Halloween Special
Notable unmaskings have already occurred, including The One Show presenter Alex Jones, musician Professor Green, and Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon. The show’s Halloween-themed episode on January 17 added a festive twist, with host Joel Dommett appearing as Wednesday Adams while the judges donned spooky costumes.
Surprising Guest Judge
Ben Shephard served as a guest judge during this special episode, which left some fans puzzled. Many had previously speculated that Shephard could be behind the mask of Can of Worms. As the masked celebrity performed “Ghostbusters,” Shephard praised the act, suggesting Charlie Cooper could be the voice behind the disguise.
Viewer Reactions
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on the outcome. User @avadamgedavra mentioned those who had guessed Shephard as Can of Worms. Others chimed in, with @scotthopper1 insisting Shephard could be Conkers, while @betty_mari26982 humorously noted the twist in guesses.
Prior to the episode, Shephard expressed his excitement on Instagram, declaring, “Who doesn’t love a #spooktacular in January? Had so much fun joining the @maskedsingeruk panel!”
