Ayrshire is set to welcome its inaugural Nando’s restaurant, which opens tomorrow in Kilmarnock. This highly anticipated venue will serve the popular Peri-Peri chicken and create local employment opportunities.

Nando’s Kilmarnock Opening Details

The new Nando’s is located on Queen’s Drive, next to the Odeon cinema. It boasts seating for 117 indoor patrons and an additional 28 seats outdoors. The restaurant’s opening hours will be from 11 AM to 10 PM daily, starting January 21.

Job Creation and Community Engagement

This establishment has generated 40 jobs for the local community. Restaurant manager Kaley Todd expressed excitement about welcoming customers to enjoy their renowned cuisine. Additionally, the restaurant has partnered with Fullarton Community Hub to support local projects and community initiatives.

History of the Venue

The building housing Nando’s has been vacant since July 2024. It was formerly occupied by Tony Macaroni, which closed unexpectedly, while Frankie and Benny’s exited in 2020 due to challenges stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nando’s is committed to celebrating its Southern African roots. The Kilmarnock location features distinct design elements, including intricate ceilings, geometric wall patterns, and vibrant artwork. This aesthetic is achieved through collaborations with South African designers.
